THIS
WEEK'S MUSIC ANNOUNCEMENTS
If you’ve always wanted to
sing in the church choir
but can’t make a year-round commitment, here’s your chance!
It’s not necessary to read music, simply have a song in your
heart.
All interested youth and adults are invited to join us next
Sunday, August 31, at 9:30 a.m. to practice with the Parish
Choir.
SAVE THE DATE! All our Parish Choirs will kick off their new
season the first week in September. NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME!
Genesis Choir (ages 4 years-first grade)
First rehearsal, Wednesday, September 3, 5-5:30 p.m.
Youth Choir (grades 2-7)
Rehearse Wednesdays, 5:30-6:10 p.m. beginning September 3rd.
Parish Ringers (hand bells and chimes)
Begin rehearsals Thursday, September 4th, 6-7 p.m.
Parish Choir (adults)
Kick off rehearsals Thursday, September 4th, 7-8:30 p.m.
NEWCOMERS are
encouraged to join us!
Music is an integral part of the worship at St. John’s.
It is
also an important opportunity for our children to learn the
Episcopal service music, hymns and songs and the theology
contained therein. There are 3 choirs (adult, children’s, and
youth) and 2 instrumental groups (Parish Ringers and Parish
Players) who provide music for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Eucharist.
Additionally, there is a strong group of guitarists who play for
the contemporary, informal Wednesday evening Eucharist. Newcomers
are always welcome! The rehearsal schedule is as follows:

You don’t have to be a child to participate in the Music
Ministry of St. John’s! Do
you play an instrument or love to sing (even if you have never
been in a choir before)? Please consider joining our Parish Choir.
Parish
Players Guitarists and other instrumentalists who play at the
10:30 a.m.
Eucharist. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.
Parish Ringers (handbells
and chimes) rehearse Thursdays, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., under the
direction of Mona Black Jones (791-4666, blackpal@ec.rr.com).

St.
John’s Volunteer Guitarist Roger Charles
is providing free CDs of his music to St.
John’s members. Copies
of Carpenter’s Rest can be found in a basket on the hall
table. Contributions
to St. John’s Music Ministry are welcome, but not expected.
