Christian Education for Children and Youth

Sundays, 9:30 – 10:20 a.m. beginning September 7

Pre-K through 1st grade will follow a combination of Beulahland and Witness curricula;

grades 2 through 8 will follow the Witness curriculum, with its emphasis on KNOW (scripture), GROW (faith), and SHOW (service); and grades 9 through 12 will explore Faith Lens, a weekly current event/issue of interest to teens with a lesson tying it into the day’s lectionary.

Children's Chapel

(during the 10:00a.m. service – summer, and 10:30a.m. service during the school year)

Children ages 4 through 5th grade enjoy their own special worship service with an age appropriate, lectionary-based program. During the 10:30 a.m., (10:00a.m. summer), Eucharist children worship with their parents until the Gospel Hymn. Then the children are invited to follow the Children's Chapel banner to the Children's Chapel upstairs for an age appropriate Gospel lesson. At the Peace, children rejoin their parents for communion.  Children's Chapel is not held on the Sunday when the Children's Choirs sing, which is generally the 3rd Sunday of the month. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help with this special service, please contact Kristy or Jason Harley (383-2917).

Raising Great Kids Small Group Bible Study

Raising Great Kids is taking the summer off and will resume September 7th.
5:00 p.m. every other Sunday

Raising Great Kids,” meets for potluck dinner and discussion of Christian parenting issues.  It uses material that is engaging but not threatening, even to novice Bible study participants. Discussions this fall will focus on the book The Life You Have Always Wanted, by John Ortberg. It may be available at local Christian bookstores or at Amazon.com. Please contact Laura Cavagnaro (cavagnarolaura@bellsouth.net, 762-5761) with your ideas, questions, etc.

Parents, grandparents, or anyone interested in helping the children in their lives are welcome.

Raising Great Kids is meeting again. As you remember, we begin with a potluck dinner which we share with our children and proceed to our Bible Study. We are continuing with the book — The Life You’ve Always Wanted by John Ortberg.  We invite and welcome others to join us! So if you’ve been considering it, now is a good time to try it!! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim and Marie Warren, Michael McGarrity, Lloyd and Jen Smith, or Chris and Kathy Southerly. Childcare is provided. The children enjoy this time together as much as the adults. Look at the monthly calendar for scheduled events.  We hope you join us.
