Adult and Older Youth Choirs:
You don’t have to be a child to participate in the Music Ministry of St. John’s! Do you play an instrument or love to sing (even if you have never been in a choir before)? Please consider joining our Parish Choir.
If you’ve always wanted to sing in the church choir but can’t make a year-round commitment, here’s your chance! It’s not necessary to read music, simply have a song in your heart. Do you like to sing but hesitate to join the choir because you are not sure if you can keep up with the more experienced singers or that you can commit the time on a regular basis?
Music is an integral part of the worship at St. John’s. It is also an important opportunity for our children to learn the Episcopal service music, hymns and songs and the theology contained therein. There are 3 choirs (adult, children’s, and youth) and 2 instrumental groups (Parish Ringers and Parish Players) who provide music for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Eucharist. Newcomers are always welcome! The rehearsal schedule is as follows:
Parish Players Guitarists and other instrumentalists who play at the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.
Parish Players (guitar, flute, violin, etc.)
Wednesdays, 8:00-8:30 p.m.
Parish Ringers (hand bells and chimes)
Thursdays, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Parish Choir (adults of all ages)
Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
